Eight

Hard to believe that my baby is 8 years old.  Eight years since I first met that sweet little face and held her close.  Eight years since my life was changed forever. Where has the time gone?  She is definitely growing up to have a mind of her own.  She is growing more and more independent everyday.  But, she is still little enough that she wants her Mommy or Daddy to be with her when she does things.

We were afraid that the weather was going to mess up everything.  Icy roads were in the forecast, but they held off and we were able to celebrate.  Her birthday was very low keyed this year, with just dinner with her grandparents.  Her favorite item, spaghetti, was on the menu with chocolate cake (made by herself) for dessert.  Gifts were mostly money since a trip to the American Girl Store in Charlotte is on the menu for Monday.

Happy Birthday, my beautiful little girl.  I love you very, very much!

Carli asked for money for her birthday.  Instead of a party, she wanted to go to the American Girl store.  She was in heaven!  She took Kit with her and bought Mary Ellen to come home.
