Frozen!

Carli's preschool was closed today for the Christmas holiday, so I decided it was time to take her to her first movie experience.  She has been watching more and more of the Disney movies that have been coming on TV and moving around less and less.  I thought this was the perfect time to go.

On the way to The Grande, I told Carli that Poppie had taken me to see my first movies in the theater when I was a little girl, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella.  While I don't remember going, I credit him for my love of Disney princesses.  I was a little worried about how she would react since she never sits still for anything very long.

When we got there, she was so excited she almost ran to the doors.  We got popcorn to share and headed to the theater.

There showed cartoons and clips to keep her entertained while we waited.  And then there were the previews that seemed to go on forever!  Then they showed the funniest cartoon which starred, Mickey Mouse!  (I think that might have been her favorite part.)

Then the actual movie started.  Carli was entranced the whole time.  She never moved except to look at the people around her once in awhile.  She told me afterwards that she loved the movie!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas with Carli gets better every year!  She is understanding more what the holiday is and why we celebrate!  She sung many songs at church and preschool about Jesus and this year really gotten Santa Claus!

Monday, Carli's Aunt Nancy came and got her for a fun day with her.  I don't know all they did, but I know they watched cartoons, did some art, and made gingerbread cookies.  Carli had so much fun!  This helped Mommy and Daddy get so much done at the house!

Christmas Eve, Mommy, Daddy, and Carli had lots of fund decorating cupcakes to take to Grandma & PawPaw's for dinner.  Mommy iced, while Carli and Daddy put on the face.  After they were all decorated, Daddy and Carli took some to Mrs. Barb and Mr. Charles.

After baking, we got cleaned up and headed to church for the Christmas Eve service. It was great!  It was interactive, with carols, communion and a puzzle we put together of the Nativity while reading the Christmas story.  Carli even let me take a few pictures of her in front of the Christmas tree.

Then we headed to Grandma & PawPaw's for the Laws Christmas.  Carli loved it.  Most of her favorite people all together under one roof.   We ate, laughed, and then opened gifts.  Carli was the passer outer.  She loved doing that.  Then Hunter read us the story of Jesus' birth and we tore open the packages.  Carli was in heaven since almost everything she got was Hello Kitty-the only thing she had asked for this year.

After coming home and getting out the milk and cookies (or fudge and cupcakes at our house), Carli headed to bed to await the arrival of Santa.  She was so excited she was jumping up and down chanting his name over and over.

The next morning, Carli couldn't wait to get downstairs to see what Santa had brought her.  She tore through the packages to check out every one.

Later, Poppie came for lunch and gifts.  While Mommy was finishing lunch, Poppie, Daddy and Carli played the fishing game Santa brought.  Carli had trouble using the rod to pick up the fish, so she resorted to just picking them up when it didn't work.

After lunch, Poppie gave out his gifts.  Carli was elated to get a dress up outfit of Cinderella and the Doc McSuffin doctor's bag.  She then proceeded to give everyone shots.

After Poppie left, it was time for everyone to take a nap.  Carli resisted until she was able to take one with Mommy on her bed.  That evening, things were back to normal-cartoons before bed.

Christmas 2013 was great!  Can't wait to do it all over again next year!!

All Princess

December 1st, Princess, the Elf, made her reappearance at the Laws house to watch over Carli for Santa.  This year, Princess brought back her book and made us a simple breakfast of chocolate muffins and strawberry Santa hats.   Carli was excited to have her back.

Over the course of the weeks leading up to Christmas, Carli was careful not to touch her, but came close several times.  Most mornings, Princess sat in very normal places, the mantle, the top of a lamp...but sometimes, she was a little more adventurous:

must have gotten hungry?

One morning, Carli found a letter with magical seeds from Princess.  They told her to plant them and something would grow from the seeds overnight.

The next morning, Carli found magical reindeer cookies had grown.

She tried to help wrap presents

She made a birthday card for Jesus on Christmas Eve.
When we got home from Grandma and PawPaw's, it was time to get milk and cookies ready for Santa and to tell Princess goodbye until next year.  Carli was finally able to touch  her since Princess would be riding on the sleigh back to the North Pole.  It took a few minutes for Carli to believe she could finally touch her.  Then she hugged her, gave her several kisses and told her she loved her.  She didn't want to leave her to go to bed, but finally did.

Princess, we will miss you at the Laws house!  Hurry back next year!
