FIRST GRADE!

Can't believe Carli is already in first grade.  Where has the time gone.  She chose her dress and fabric for the first day.  She wanted one that was long.  She is so into long dresses right now.

Mrs. Musten is her teacher this year.  She promises to push Carli so she can learn everything she needs to learn.

When asked what her favorite thing was about today, she said recess.  Now before you laugh because kids want to play, she said, "Because I got to see all my friends from last year."

100 Days Smarter and Valentine's Day

Last Tuesday was the 100th Day of Kindergarten.  Mrs. Panico & Mrs. Bolchalk did several things to commemorate the occasion.

Students were given the assignment to decorate a t-shirt with 100 things.  During the day, they held a fashion show, and did lots of counting things for 100.

I chose 100 pompoms because they look like polka dots.

That afternoon, Carli was the student reader in her class.  I was a little late...  Better pay attention.  She will call you out!

I am unique because I am adopted.

That Friday was Valentine's Day.  Carli loves to make valentines for her friends, but loves getting them more.

Suddenly Six!

Can't believe Carli is finally six.  What a great time we had celebrating!

Friday, Joe and I surprised her and brought lunch and popsicles for her friends.  Then we waited for her to come home to surprise her with a new bike.  She had asked for it back in October or November.  We even had her pick one out.  Then she never mentioned it again.  She was so excited to get on and ride.  Too bad it was misting and cold so she could only ride for a minute.

Dinner that night was with her family at her favorite place to eat and get Mexican chips.  She was a happy girl.

Carli Met Santa!

Carli had a blast meeting Santa recently.  She couldn't believe it was really him.  She has never sat on Santa's lap except her first birthday when she didn't really understand what was going on.  When she saw Santa this year, she ran up to him and jumped into his lap.  As we were leaving, she whispered, "Mommy, he was the REAL Santa."

Happy Halloween, Ya'll

Last weekend, the whole family got into the pumpkin carving spirit.  For the first time ever, Carli actually put her hand into the pumpkin and pulled out the guts.
